The Sound and Light Exploration Society is an artist run organisation dedicated to the creation and promotion of creative music and art.

The organisation's venue, the Pyramid Club, was started in March 2014, and hosts regular shows, exhibitions and workshops. The Pyramid Club is the latest in a long line of artist-run spaces in Wellington including Happy, Space Thing and The Space, Fred's and The Garage.

The Sound and Light Exploration Society produces many shows, tours and festivals including Fredstock and Rising Tides. Sound Explorers Records has 7 releases to date. Currently the group is working on an oral history project about creative music in Wellington in the 1980s focussing on the Primitive Art Group and Braille Collective.
